About Me

Qualifications & Registrations

It’s important when choosing a therapist to know about their qualifications and registrations, so you know that you’re getting the best evidence-based therapy possible.

I have a BSc in Psychology & Zoology (Bristol University), a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Oxford University), and Post-Graduate Diplomas in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Royal Holloway University) and Neuropsychology (Glasgow University).

I’m registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (#PYL 18685), British Psychological Society (#190844) and British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (#120548).

As part of this work I have an enhanced DBS (#1647031560). I also have professional insurance, and as is best practice for therapists, receive my own supervision.

It’s important to know you’re getting the best evidence-based therapy.

Experience

Since qualifying from Oxford University with my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, I have worked in the NHS in Clinical Health Psychology at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital for the past decade (specialising in HIV & Sexual Health), addictions (primarily ‘chemsex’) for Central North West London NHS Trust, and as a supervisor and trainer in adult mental health for IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapy).

I am currently a Clinical Tutor on the Leicester Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and also for CBT Therapists in London (where I also lead on Long-Term Health Conditions), alongside my private practice.

As part of my work I have various publications and conference presentations which can be found here.

NHS & Private

As someone who was trained by, and still works for, the NHS, I am a great supporter and very proud of it. When we initially discuss your difficulties and options, I will always check you are aware of what NHS options are available to you. That said, for various different reasons some people prefer to access private therapy instead of through the NHS.

Either way, it is important that your psychologist or therapist is fully qualified and registered. Some people like to have an assessment with several different therapists before deciding who they want to work with.

I’m a great supporter of the NHS & very proud of it.
